A preliminary
sketch for a project that would become the construction
and slow deconstruction of the heavily air conditioned sculpture called
the hut/chapel. Cheap-cheap-cheapness prevented the roof from being
this giant jagged fuck-all slant overhang.

It
would have been great to secure a backhoe and bury a 10ft section of
the bottom slanting roof into the ground. The ramp roof design was
junked and a material that fought with the air conditioner showed up
one day from storage. I ended up using a 1/2
inch flat

clear acrylic
roof. Please know that it's very difficult to water seal a flush
mounted horizontal skylight. Luckily
the wall unit roaring away at
full blast kept the hut/chapel dryish.

The first version is depicted in the top left image. Notice
the large satellite dishes on the left. These dishes used to broadcast
Russian television to the local hollers. A tractor trailer full of
ultra blue bucknell folding chairs existed directly behind the
hut/chapel.

The above image
represents the second to last stage of existence for the the hut/chapel. Admire the snow hat left
upon the acrylic roof creating a certain winter shade for anyone
willing to sit on an old rusty stool. The wind
took care of the final
stage of this project. The
hut/chapel was later reconstructed for the
annual show at the Samek in Lewisburg. The air conditioner and it's
corresponding removal from the hut was included with the show. Many
heads were scratched during the group opening. Many cheese cubes were
also consumed.
